Clarksville is calling. | Photo via the Clarksville Convention and Visitors Bureau
Can’t get the homies to move closer to you? This news might do the trick. Clarksville, located just an hour northwest of Nashville, is one of 20 cities named to Opendoor’s roundup of Hottest ZIP Codes in 2023.
The real estate company used MLS data to classify ZIP codes by total homes under contract within 90 days of listing in 2023 — and Clarksville is no stranger to earning a top ranking. Though the area dropped two spots to No. 3 this year, it marks the only Tennessee city recognized.
The report notes that convenient amenities were key, which supports the prior year’s findings where home buyers sought a small town feel with plenty of activities to choose from.
A trip isn’t complete without an outdoor activity — keep reading for a few suggestions.

12th Avenue South project lands spot on Best New US Bike Lanes of 2023
Have you had the opportunity to see the completed project in action? | Photo via @nashvilledot
Nashville put the pedal to the metal last spring, unveiling the city’s first complete and green street. Now, the 12th Avenue South project is going the distance, landing the No. 12 spot on PeopleForBikes’ ranking of the “Best New US Bike Lanes of 2023.”
Allow us to backpedal a bit. The 1.5-mile stretch was identified as a top bikeway priority and included in the 2017 WalknBike Plan. Though bike lanes existed, the renovation brought “better, safer facilities” connecting area housing to downtown and other districts. Updates included protected bike lanes, bioswales for stormwater management, bus boarding islands, and safer pedestrian crossings.
What’s next? In case you missed it, the city has entered its community engagement and design phases (aka, they need your help) for East Nashville’s complete streets project along Gallatin Pike and Main Street. Take the online survey.
