Get ready to hit the streets and creeks for the Greater Nashville Litter Cleanup, a county-wide cleanup taking place the weekend of October 7-8.
The Tennessee Environmental Council — with the help of community volunteers, Metro Water Services, and other area nonprofits — hopes to remove 15,000 pounds of litter from streets and waterways during the event.
Before you dig out your water shoes or work boots, find the list of cleanup sites for 20+ parks, creeks, streets, and greenways — Richland Creek, Little Harpeth River, and Browns Creek Park, to name a few spots.
The goal is to have at least one cleanup in each of the 35 council districts, so expect the list of sites to grow between now and the registration deadline on Sunday, Oct. 1. Bonus: Individuals or groups wanting to organize an event can register as a cleanup leader.
