Peach us, we’re dreaming. The Peach Truck’s 2nd annual Peach Week returns on Monday, July 24.

This year, the Nashville-based business teamed up with 10+ bars and restaurants to feature limited-time menu offerings made with The Peach Truck peaches — available while supplies last.

If you want to celebrate early, visit Rare Bird at Noelle this weekend to help kick off The Peach Truck’s Stay Peachy rooftop pop-up. Enjoy specialty eats and cocktails daily from Friday, July 21 to Thursday, Aug. 31.

  • The owners of Brooklyn’s Frankies 457 Spuntino opened the first of three concepts — The Pizzeria at Frankies — in East Nashville at 905 Cherokee Ave. The flagship restaurant, Frankies 925 Spuntino, opens later this summer, and a specialty foods store is also planned.
Eat
  • Get in, we’re going to Madison. Daddy’s Dogs plans to open a new location here in early 2024. Stay tuned for more details, as well as the opening date for the Factory at Franklin location later this year.
Closing
  • Yellow & Lavender is closing in Inglewood’s Riverside Village. The vegan bakery’s last day of service is Sunday, July 23. Stop by 1406 McGavock Pk. this weekend for sweet and savory treats and merch.

Guide to the 2024 Southern Festival of Books in Nashville

Book lovers rejoice. The Southern Festival of Books returns to downtown Nashville on Saturday, Oct. 21-Sunday, Oct. 22.

Humanities Tennessee announced the lineup + new festival features for the 35th annual event. No surprises here, it’s a real page turner.

What’s new this year

Location: SFoB will be held in person at three new locations — Bicentennial Mall, the Tennessee State Museum, and Tennessee State Library.

Student Day: For the first time,  the festival will welcome 1,000 students on Friday, Oct. 20. There will be meet-and-greets, book giveaways, educational programming, and an appearance from novelist Carl Hiaasen (“Hoot” and “Flush”).

Community events: Mark your calendar the week leading up to the festival for a National Black Poetry Day event at East Park (Sunday, Oct. 15) + a ticketed author talk with science fiction writer John Scalzi at Parnassus Books (Thursday, Oct. 19).
