This Saturday marks the start of Nashville’s Juneteenth Restaurant Week, a nine-day culinary experience kicking off Juneteenth615’s 2023 events. We’re guiding you through an array of sips, snacks, and specials available at 15+ participating businesses through Sunday, June 18.

Other Juneteenth events

There are many events taking place around Nashville to commemorate the holiday, including Juneteenth615’s annual Freedom Fireworks at Fort Negley Park (5-10 p.m.) with live entertainment, food trucks, vendors, an official proclamation ceremony, and fireworks. Other programs include a community bike ride, special events at the National Museum of African American Music, symphony performances, and more.

  • Music City Memorabilia will celebrate its grand opening in Green Hills — 40 Burton Hills Blvd., Ste. 200 — on Monday, June 12. The shop, which sells sports cards, collectibles, and other memorabilia, is open to the public Monday-Thursday and by appointment Friday-Sunday.
Cause
  • The Nashville Sounds will wear 615 jerseys at the Thursday, June 15 game against the Gwinnett Stripers as a tribute to Nashville on 615 Day. The jerseys are up for auction through Thursday, June 22 with proceeds benefiting VictimsFirst + the Covenant School shooting victim’s families.
Theater
  • Studio Tenn and TPAC’s “Cabaret On Stage” series returns this summer, with appearances by Broadway stars Jason Danieley (July 22), Ken Page (Aug. 19), and Emily Skinner (Sept. 30). The events will be held in TPAC’s Polk Theater. Tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m.

  • The appeals period is now open for residential and commercial property owners seeking to request a formal appeal of their property values. The deadline to schedule an appeal to the independent Metropolitan Board of Equalization is Friday, June 16 at 4 p.m.

  • Water you doing next Wednesday? Nashville Shores will celebrate its 25th anniversary on June 14 with games, fireworks, and giveaways all day. Admission is $25.

  • Nashville Zoo announced the birth of a new eland calf, 54-pound Otis, born on May 9 to Indigo and Ochre. Visit Otis and family in the zoo’s Africa Field habitat with the other eland and species.

Kick off the summer with a new family-friendly festival at GEODIS Park. We’re sharing three things to know about Summer Fest — coming to the stadium Friday, June 23-Sunday, June 25.
  • The 21+ Summer Fest Kickoff Party on Friday, June 23 (7-11 p.m.) will feature open play pickleball courts, live entertainment, a fully stocked bar, and GEODIS Park concert raffles. Tickets are $30.
  • Visit the stadium on Saturday, June 24 (9 a.m.-6 p.m.) + Sunday, June 25 (12-4 p.m.) for kid’s activities, corn hole and pickleball games, stadium tours, and live music from School of Rock and Two Story Road. General admission tickets are $10 + kids 10 and under get in free.
  • Get a jump start on Saturday’s festivities with Yoga on the Pitch at 9 a.m. Tickets are $25 and include the class and all other activities on this day.
