Mayor John Cooper’s 2024 fiscal year budget proposal is on its way to Metro Council. See the budget breakdown, which includes ~$100 million in new Metro Schools funding, $50 million for Metro employee pay increases, and more. The budget requires council approval by June 30.

Fizz Facial Bar’s Nashville West location (6720 Charlotte Pk., Ste. 101) is set to open Thursday, May 18. The skin care studio specializes in bar facials, designed to have you out the door in ~30 mins, plus a variety of add-ons. Booking is now open.
Closing
Bye-bye, Bed Bath & Beyond and Buy Buy Baby. The retailer announced it’s filed for bankruptcy, meaning it will begin liquidating assets and closing storefronts in the coming months. Closing sales have commenced at stores in Bellevue, Franklin, and Murfreesboro.
Theater
Without further ado, this year’s Summer Shakespeare selection is “Much Ado About Nothing.” The free performance will “explore themes of love and relationships in a hilariously modern way” at oneC1TY on Thursdays-Sundays from Aug. 31 to Sept. 24 + on Labor Day.

You’ll have options when Toastique opens in Germantown next year.
The toast and juice bar is one of the first tenants announced for mixed-use development Starling (formerly Ballpark Village) under construction at 820 4th Ave. N. The restaurant is expected in the second quarter of 2024 — here’s a glimpse of what you’ll find on the menu:

Cold-pressed juice and craft coffee
In case you missed it, Starling will boast 350+ residential units and 17,000 sqft of retail space facing the Cumberland River Greenway when it opens next summer. Toastique will occupy 1,600 sqft and offer an outdoor patio.
