Explore
South End’s First Friday Gallery Crawl highlights the best of the vibrant neighborhood’s bustling arts scene. Participating art galleries + design centers located along the Rail Trail offer extended hours, special receptions, and light bites and drinks.
Interact Just follow the music — many galleries and neighborhood coffee shops + restaurants feature live music throughout the evening. Plus, some galleries host live painting sessions where you can watch art come to life.

Charlotte is home to several impressive art festivals. A couple worth highlighting: Charlotte SHOUT! (March 31-April 16) showcases the city’s creativity and innovation through art, music, food, and ideas, while the Charlotte International Arts Festival (Sep. 15-Oct. 1) celebrates global artists through 200+ visual, performing, and immersive art attractions.
Interact Love interactive art? Charlotte SHOUT! features 20 art installations you can touch, see, and interact with. Immersive art is also a key element of the Charlotte International Arts Festival.
🎟️ Picasso, Bearden, and more
Explore
What’s better than seeing 40+ landscapes spanning Pablo Picasso’s 77-year career? One ticket that grants access to both “Picasso Landscapes: Out of Bounds” and “Bearden/Picasso: Rhythm and Reverberations,” featuring a first-ever organized comparison of Picasso and Cubism artist Romare Bearden. Both exhibitions are on display at the Mint Museum Uptown through May 21.

Metro Council unanimously voted, 36-0, to reappoint Rep. Justin Jones as the interim representative for House District 52. Jones was expelled from the Tennessee House of Representatives on Thursday. (The Tennessean)
Three Tennessee judges have temporarily halted a law that would shrink Metro Council’s size in half. The pause means Metro Nashville will move through the Aug. 3 election with 40 members on the ballot. (The Tennessean)

Shotgun Willie’s will relocate to 1500 Gallatin Pk. S. near Eastside Bowl in September. The East Nashville, Texas-style barbecue staple indicates patrons can expect a 1,000-gallon smoker, plenty of parking spaces, and perhaps a mechanical bull.

Don’t have this on your calendar? Flag on the play. The Tennessee Titans are hosting Titans Draft Night at 6th & Peabody on Thursday, April 27 at 6 p.m. Expect appearances from T-Rac and Titans cheerleaders + giveaways at the free, all-ages event.
Vanderbilt is headed to the NCAA Bowling Final Four on Friday. The second-seeded Commodores will take on Arkansas State at the national semifinals in Las Vegas. The feat marks the 10th time the team has made it to the Final Four since the program was formed 19 years ago. (WSMV)
