The forthcoming Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum downtown is being curated by her niece, Rebecca Seaver. When asked what excites her most, she pointed to the Imagination Library section, which will include a tunnel entrance just for kids, inspired by Parnassus Books. (The Tennessean)
Mansion Monday
This West Nashville ridge-top estate doesn’t waste its vantage point. With floor-to-ceiling windows, an office with patio access, and a pool built into the hillside, you’re always looking out at nature.
Coming Soon
Steaks dry aged in-house for 18 to 24 days, pan-fried calamari, and coconut cream pie are just a few items featured on The Capital Grille’s menu. The restaurant, located on Broadway near Whole Foods, is set to open Friday, April 17. (Nashville Lifestyles)
Cause
April is National Volunteer Month, a celebration of those who give back to their communities. In Nashville, it’s the perfect time to start volunteering (or take your service to the next level) with 55+ opportunities to get involved across town.
Plan Ahead
Local grocer The Turnip Truck turns 25 this year — and it’s throwing a free block party on Saturday, May 9 at its East Nashville store. Plan to stop by between 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for food and drinks, live music, and yes, grocery discounts.
Jobs

Whether you’ve been here since day one or just joined us, thanks for reading. | Graphic by NASHtoday
Did you know NASHtoday’s first newsletter hit inboxes on April 5, 2021? Five years, hundreds of newsletters, and a lot of local coffee later, I wanted to say “thanks a million” for making us part of your daily routine.
Even though you usually see my face at the bottom, it’s a team effort each day — from the managing team to the tips and scoops you send in. We’ve even welcomed a new business-focused newsletter to the family, BizBrief. Of course, my former co-editors Katie + Skylar were a big part of building NASHtoday, too.
So to celebrate this milestone, I picked up one of my favorite local treats: a red velvet cupcake from The Cupcake Collection to match NASHtoday’s signature red.
