Major League Soccer will pause for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and while we’ll miss cheering on the Boys in Gold from late May to mid-July, GEODIS Park won’t sit empty.

FIFA World Cup watch parties: Free viewings at GEODIS Park (June 12 and 25) and Centennial Park (June 19) of the US men’s national team matches
Concerts: Forrest Frank (June 19) + Thomas Rhett & Niall Horan (July 9)
Community events: Youth camps, the 6th annual InterNASHional Night Market (June 13), and a nighttime 5K (June 28)

Opening
A new reason to ride the elevator at W Nashville: Glowbird opens Sunday, April 26 at the hotel’s WET Deck. The poolside bar by the José Andrés Group will serve lobster rolls, watermelon salad, and cocktails. Locals are welcome from 4 p.m. to close.
Development
Work is underway on Bridgestone Arena’s $750 million renovation project. The first phase features infrastructure upgrades, including replacing the south entrance stairwell with escalators. The bulk of construction is scheduled for the summers of 2027 through 2029, with minimal closures expected. (Nashville Business Journal)
Civic
A new foam recycling drop-off program launches tomorrow at the East Convenience Center, giving residents a way to recycle polystyrene foam (aka Styrofoam) for the first time. Mayor Freddie O’Connell will demonstrate the new system at a 10 a.m. event. (WKRN)

Rumors of Nashville hosting the 2030 Super Bowl swirled yesterday after sportscaster Dan Patrick said on his radio show the deal was “signed and ready to go,” according to a source. However, a Titans source noted there are “no new updates,” and the mayor’s office said it has not been informed of a selection. (WSMV + For the Win)

Up for a little treasure hunting? More than 30 homes across the Nations will participate in a neighborhood yard sale this Saturday, April 25 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Request a digital map, and plan to bring cash and a tote (or two).
Travel
American Airlines plans to replace its Admirals Club at BNA with a new 17,400-sqft lounge in Concourse A. The upgraded club will feature outdoor terraces and an interior balcony overlooking the concourse. The existing Concourse C lounge will remain open during construction.
Traffic
NDOT is set to host two meetings on planned Gallatin Pike upgrades from S. 5th Street to Briley Parkway. Hear updates on repaving, new crossings, and other safety improvements on Tuesday, April 28 at NPL’s East Branch and Wednesday, April 29 at MNPD’s East Precinct. (WKRN)
