Did you know the first hot air balloon ride in Tennessee launched from what’s now Public Square Park in 1877? The balloon and its passengers landed safely an hour-and-a-half away in Sparta.

That’s just one of many facts you’ll pick up on Nashville Sites’ new City Hall and Public Square audio tour. Gather with other history-loving Nashvillians at the launch event this Sunday, April 19 at 3 p.m. Can’t make it? Take the self-guided tour anytime.

The Wrap

I’m dogsitting for my family this week, so the next few newsletters will be brought to you by yours truly and an adorable seven-pound pup named Taco posted up right beside me. He arrives today, so I’ll share a photo later this week.

And speaking of dogs: If I wasn’t already booked with this little guy, I’d be heading to a yoga class at Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary on Saturday. Hopefully I’ll be able to make the next one.
