Charge your phones and grab your binoculars, Nashville. The annual Great Backyard Bird Count takes flight beinning today, Feb. 13 and runs through Monday, Feb. 16. The event invites nature lovers and bird enthusiasts from around the world to go outside, watch, count, and celebrate birds.

Anyone can participate — all you have to do is go outside and observe for as little as 15 minutes. Count all of the birds you see or hear using one of the following tools:
The information will help experts study bird habitats, migration patterns, and global bird populations.

News Notes

Announced

The Musicians Hall of Fame announced its 2026 inductees, including Dann Huff, Dolly Parton, John Boylan, Keith Urban, Leland Sklar, Michael McDonald, Nicky Hopkins, and George Thorogood & The Destroyers. The honorees will be celebrated at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, April 28 — grab tickets.

Concert

This is what dreams are made of, Hilary Duff fans. The pop star will take the stage at Ascend Amphitheater on Thursday, July 30. In other concert news, Tame Impala will perform at Bridgestone Arena with support from Djo (aka actor Joe Keery) on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Artist Devin Drake built this detailed scale model to celebrate the theater’s 100th anniversary. If you look closely, the movie posters feature a few familiar titles: “Nashville,” “Stop Making Sense,” and “The Room.” Look out for it on display at the Belcourt soon.
