It’s time to break out your electric gold and acoustic blue. From important dates and theme nights to new match day experiences at GEODIS Park, here’s what to know ahead of this weekend’s season opener.

⚽ See the team in action

  • The first home match | Nashville welcomes the New England Revolution for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff this Saturday, Feb. 21.
  • Theme nights | Barbie Game Day, “Star Wars” Night, and Sam Surridge + Eddi Tagseth bobblehead giveaways are on the schedule.

🌭 Concessions

New concessions include Sideline Smoke, Hattie B’s, and BreBotz Barista. Check out all the options via this map, and don’t miss $1 hot dogs at select concessions during Wednesday home matches.

🏟️ Before the match

Fans can now join The Backline for pre-match marches to GEODIS Park, starting with a tailgate at Lot 5 (Fair Park) before walking together to the stadium.

Heads up: MLS will pause regular season play from May 25 to July 16 for the FIFA World Cup.

Merus plans to donate a portion of the site to Metro to support future rapid bus transit improvements through WeGo. | Rendering via Merus

Development

Demolition is set to begin this spring at RiverGate Mall as real estate firm Merus moves forward with its $450 million redevelopment. Plans for the 57-acre property include 700 apartments, 100 townhomes, retail, restaurants, and a community plaza, with phased development through the early 2030s.

Traffic

The John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge will be under construction for repairs beginning Monday, Feb. 23. Partial closures are expected over the next 90 days, though the north sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians. Cyclists will need to dismount and walk through affected areas.

Community

TDOT is hosting public hearings as part of the National Environmental Policy Act review for the proposed I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes project. Meetings are set for March 4-5 in Nashville, where officials will lead presentations and Q+A sessions.
There’s a new bird turning heads at the Nashville Zoo: a Victoria crowned pigeon. Native to New Guinea, the species is the largest of all pigeons and named in honor of Queen Victoria.
