🐾 Parks for paws

Nashville just earned a spot among the country’s best cities for dog parks with an especially strong score for park quality. That’s quite the bark of approval.

For a doggone good time, head to these dog parks and tap the button below for more places to take your pup.

Central Dog Park
This fenced dog park sits next to a larger public space with wide walkways, a play area, and bike racks. It’s an easy stop if you’re already out walking in the neighborhood near Surefire Coffee and Bearded Iris Brewing.

Gulch Dog Park
Located near The Turnip Truck, the park has designated areas for large and small dogs, plus a set of murals that have become its most recognizable feature.

Fair Park Dog Park
This car-themed dog park is conveniently located near the fairgrounds and GEODIS Park + received “4 out of 5 bones” on BringFido.

Two Rivers Dog Park
After play time, pet owners can do laps with their pooches on the walking path around the dog park.

News Notes

Eat

Plans are underway for Brothers Bar & Grill to open its first Tennessee location in Midtown’s Kenect tower, according to a Metro permit. The restaurant chain primarily operates in college towns across the Midwest with wings, burgers, and brews on the menu. (Nashville Post)

Coming Soon

Another permit filing shows Deir Cafe is preparing to open on Haywood Lane in Antioch. In the meantime, stop by the original Hagan Street location to try its pistachio and Dubai chocolate lattes. We hear the matcha drinks are pretty tasty, too. (What Now Nashville)
Country line dancing is making a comeback, and bars across the US are embracing a honky-tonk vibe to draw in crowds. While Nashville isn’t new to the trend, we recommend hitting the dance floor at Category 10 for free lessons every Thursday through Sunday. (Wall Street Journal)

Active

The hype is building for the 2026 Winter Olympics, and plans are already falling into place for the next Summer Games. Ticket registration is open for Los Angeles 2028, with one-third of tickets set to cost under $100. Get in the spirit by trying out an Olympic sport, like curling, at Tee Line Nashville. (Los Angeles Times)

Today Is

National Coffee Break Day, a reminder to partake in one of the country’s favorite pastimes — stepping away from your desk to grab a cup of joe. Fortunately, Music City has no shortage of choice.

The Word

Bongo. That was the Wordle answer that stumped the most players in 2025. Ready to redeem yourself this year? Fire up a fresh winning streak in NASHtoday’s Games portal. (TODAY)

The Wrap

Did you know Bridgestone Arena is celebrating 30 years in 2026? Start thinking about your all-time favorite Bridgestone memories — concerts, games, or otherwise — because I’ll be asking for them soon.

I checked off a bucket list show with The Postal Service in 2024, and I have my mom to thank for taking me to see Hilary Duff way back in 2004 when it was the Gaylord Entertainment Center.
