Trending
Google’s 2025 Year in Search is out, and its local search function provides an interesting peek into our city’s queries. Did you know that Nashvillians searched for Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys more than any other sports team? We prefer Titans merch, but to each their own.
Seasonal
If you’re not planning to ring in the new year at Bicentennial Park, Category 10 is hosting a “New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash” watch party with a live performance by Dwight Yoakam. The 21+ event is free on a first-come, first-served basis, but guaranteed entry tickets and VIP upgrades are also available.
Arts
A new group exhibition is coming to the Frist Art Museum. “In Her Place,” featuring nearly 100 works by 28 Nashville-based women artists, will kick off the museum’s 25th-anniversary year and run in the Ingram Gallery from Jan. 29 through April 26.
Drink
A raccoon in Virginia was the first victim to fall foul of holiday season merriment this year. Liquor store employees found the animal passed out in the bathroom after he broke in and had one too many. We recommend celebrating the holiday responsibly at a local happy hour. (AP News)

Preparing for a winter wonderland
There’s snow time like the present to prepare for winter weather. | Photo by @zachharrisonphotography
Winter is inching closer, and NDOT has laid out how it’s getting ready to keep traffic moving if snow or ice makes an appearance in Music City this season.
This readiness plan includes:
45 snowplow trucks
9,300 tons of salt
100,000 gallons of brine
40,000 gallons of calcium chloride
80 designated snow routes
Nashville uses primary, secondary, and post-secondary snow routes, which help crews prioritize major corridors + neighborhood streets. When winter weather arrives, keep the city’s interactive snow route map handy so you know what to expect in your area.
Pro tip: Primary routes are green, secondary routes are yellow, and post-secondary routes are blue.
The Buy
A foaming toilet cleaner that tackles stains, rings, and odors with zero scrubbing. Splash Foam Cleaner offers a hands-free way to achieve a sparkling clean toilet in three easy steps: pour, let it foam, and flush. It’s that easy.
Y’all were on the right track — literally. More than half of respondents pinpointed the song that ended up at the top of Nashville’s streaming activity this year. Here are the top songs in order, according to Spotify data:
1. “I’m the Problem” by Morgan Wallen 2. “luther” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA 3. “Just In Case” by Morgan Wallen 4. “Ordinary” by Alex Warren 5. “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan
