The final season of “Stranger Things” begins this Wednesday, Nov. 26, with the first four episodes released that day. If you can’t wait that long — or if you just miss the 1980s — turn back the clock with these nostalgic activities.
  • Channel your inner Scoops Ahoy crew member with a double scoop cone at Mike’s Ice Cream.
  • Glide under disco lights at Brentwood Skate Center and Rivergate Skate Center.
  • Level up at Game Galaxy Arcade in Smyrna with 400+ pinball and arcade machines on free play for one flat price.
  • Revisit the video-rental era by browsing Danger Zone Video’s VHS and DVD titles available for purchase.
And if Starcourt Mall in the fictional town of Hawkins made you miss the era of food courts and neon, reminisce on the malls of Nashville’s past.

This annual tradition lets you soak up all the joy of Thanksgiving, minus the stress. Reservations are still available to get in on this elevated family-style holiday feast, with seatings available 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27.

News Notes

Mansion Monday

An extra special espresso machine, a smokeless outdoor fire pit, and a Nintendo Switch 2. Those are all gifts featured in Forbes’ vetted list of 100 excellent presents for this holiday season. We think they’d be even better under a tree at this recently listed Forest Hills home with breathtaking views.

Film

October saw the lowest revenue generated by movie ticket sales in almost three decades — excluding 2020 for obvious reasons. With the holiday season on the horizon, and Oscar season in full swing, we recommend catching a flick at the Belcourt Theatre to help keep cinema alive. (Variety)

Stat

Would you sit right next to a stranger at a restaurant? 90% of Gen Z diners would. According to a new Resy study, communal dining is in. Consider this your cue to meet a new friend at one of Nashville’s buzzy new restaurants. (Business Insider)

Tech

Throwback alert. Nine years after going dark, Vine has made a comeback. The short-form video platform just relaunched as diVine, bringing 100,000 archived videos from before the app’s shutdown with it. Prefer punchlines in person? Check out these upcoming comedy shows in Nashville. (TechCrunch)

Kids

On Nov. 22, 1995, “Toy Story” was released, sending kids across the world into an anthropomorphic, animatronic frenzy. Appease Buzz and Woody by heading to the Adventure Science Center — and especially its Sudekum Planetarium — where you can reach for the stars.

The Wrap

Remember back in August when we told you about this giant cup of joe at JOS Fifteen Coffee? Meet its holiday sibling: an equally giant hot chocolate that looks almost too cute to drink.
