Saturday, Oct. 25 will be the first time the show has broadcast from Vanderbilt since 2008, and as always, a celebrity guest picker will help make the final game predictions. Jelly Roll handled the job this past week in Athens, GA, but who will it be in Nashville?

A. Nate Bargatze — known fan and a guest picker in 2023
B. Dansby Swanson — Former Vandy baseball player and current Chicago Cubs shortstop
C. Dierks Bentley — country star and Vanderbilt alum

Sports

Nashville SC kicks off their 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs run with a best-of-three series against Inter Miami CF starting Friday, Oct. 24. The Boys in Gold host Game 2 at GEODIS Park on Saturday, Nov. 1. Grab tickets or plan to watch the action via Apple TV.

Closing

Unique Thrift Store on Charlotte Pike is closing after 16 years in business, according to a social media post. The exact closing date is unknown, but the post asks customers to visit and support the shop during its “final days.”

Biz

In other closing news, American Signature Furniture plans to shutter all four of its Nashville-area stores. The company launched store closing sales offering 20-40% off furnishings, decor, mattresses, and more in Madison, Franklin, Clarksville, and Murfreesboro.

Travel

A Goodlettsville cabin landed on Conde Nast Traveler’s “11 Dreamy Airbnbs in the Middle of Nowhere” list. The listing is praised for its 180-degree vistas and is in the company of a Peru skylodge and a “dragon egg” treehouse in Patagonia. If you want to experience it yourself, reserve a stay this fall.
This year’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year winners are in. And they’re spectacular. Countless species spanning six continents are all featured in the stunning photos, now on display at the Natural History Museum in London. If you want to enter next year’s contest, Nashville’s trails are calling. (The Guardian)
