Fall registration is open for Vanderbilt’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), a no-credit, no-grades program designed for adults age 50 and up. The course catalog includes a mix of 30+ in-person and virtual classes, including these highlights:
Memoir writing — Take your pick between an in-person workshop or an online class focused on a short memoir.
“NBC at 100: Proud as a Peacock” — Explore a century of NBC programming from “The Tonight Show” to “Seinfeld.”
“From Forecasts to Folklore” — Meteorologist Bree Sunshine Smith unpacks forecasting with a field trip included.
Birding — Take part in “Birding for a Better World” or “Six Birding Hot Spots in Nashville.”

Bearded Iris Brewing will close its Sylvan Park taproom after service on Friday, Sept. 26. In an Instagram post, the team said the move allows the brewery to focus on its Germantown location, where a permanent kitchen and a revamped patio are on the horizon for 2026.

You might be wondering what’s next for Black Dynasty Secret Ramen House, which operates out of Bearded Iris Brewing. The last day of service is also Friday, Sept. 26, but the restaurant is working on opening a full-service location and will keep the ramen flowing through pop-ups and residencies in the meantime.

Watch
CBS will host a free fan event at Woolworth Theatre on Wednesday, Sept. 24 for its new series “Sheriff Country,” a spinoff of “Fire Country.” Expect a red carpet experience and a screening of the premiere. RSVP to the event, though keep in mind entry is first come, first served.

Cafe Cheeserie, located inside the Frist Art Museum, is offering a new pizzeria-inspired menu on Thursday nights. Stop by the cafe from 6 to 8 p.m. for pizzettas, salads, and focaccia (plus live music to set to mood).
