Happy International Cat Day

NASHtoday_AdoptableCats_Crossroads.png

With six episodes left in the final season, Jeremiah, Belly, and Conrad (left to right) would be happy to snuggle up next to you on the couch. | Photo via Crossroads Campus

Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah? If you’ve had this debate, there’s a good chance you or someone in your circle tuned in for the final season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” And now, you just might fall for this adoptable trio named after the show’s leads:
  • Jeremiah – A blue-eyed “slightly shy, but spunky young guy” who loves toys and brotherly hangouts
  • Belly – A brave and curious kitten with an independent spirit
  • Conrad – A soft-hearted sidekick with a playful streak
The 6-month-old kittens are up for adoption through Crossroads Campus. Get to know them and other adoptable pets.

The Boring Company unveiled its proposed 9.5-mile tunnel route, which would run beneath Rosa L. Parks Boulevard, 8th Avenue, and Murfreesboro Pike to the airport. A Music City Center station is also being considered in the underground parking garage. (The Tennessean)

Watch

Lines formed before sunrise at Ascend Amphitheater yesterday as a concert scene for “9-1-1: Nashville” was filmed on site. Country star Kane Brown took the stage and is now confirmed to appear in the Oct. 9 premiere, where he “proves heroic in a major storyline.” (Variety)

Announced

The Ohio State Buckeyes and Virginia Cavaliers men’s basketball teams will face off at Bridgestone Arena on Saturday, Feb. 14 in the inaugural Nashville Hoops Showdown. The game is part of Intersport’s growing slate of neutral-site showcases in destination cities. Tickets go on sale Dec. 10.

Sports

There’s always a Nashville connection. Jen Pawol, who was in town umpiring a Nashville Sounds game when she got the call, will become the first woman to umpire a regular-season MLB game this weekend. She’s set to work the final three games in the Marlins-Braves series, beginning with Saturday’s doubleheader.

Stat

1.26%. That’s the percentage of income Nashvillians should expect to spend on clothing, based on a study by WalletHub. This outfits Music City at No. 72 on the site’s list of cities where people spend the most to get dressed (when comparing the 100 largest US cities).

Feel Good

A long-lost track sparked a six-year internet hunt — and it led straight to Nashville. Sleuths traced the mystery song to Nashvillian Alex Caress, who uploaded it to MySpace at age 18. Now, he’s released “I Am Always Here,” an album of rediscovered tracks from two decades ago. (WPLN)
