With East Nashville gearing up for this weekend’s Tomato Art Fest, there’s no better time to dig into local menu items that highlight summer’s star ingredient.

Due to the seasonal nature of these dishes, we recommend checking menus or calling ahead before you go.

Sandwiches

Turkey and the Wolf Icehouse
The heirloom tomato sandwich is a fresh take on the summer classic with juicy tomato slices, Duke’s mayo, and fresh herbs.

The Southern Engine
Housed in a historic Marathon Village building, this sandwich shop’s BLT stacks crispy bacon, tomato, lettuce, and mayo on toasted sourdough with a sprinkle of salt and pepper.

Tailor
Chef Vivek Surti’s tomato sandwich comes together with seasoned cucumbers, green chutney mayo, and tomatoes on house-made bread.

The Pizzeria at Frankies
Frankies keeps it simple with the tomato pizza, topped with vine‑ripened Bianco DiNapoli tomatoes and Sicilian oregano.
