Today Is

The first day of school for MNPS students. Families can find bus routes, supply lists, breakfast + lunch menus, and other key resources on the district’s Back to School hub.

Transit

WeGo riders can now pay with contactless credit cards and mobile wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay. The new system features automatic fare capping, so passengers using the same card for multiple trips won’t pay more than $4 daily. Exact cash and QuickTicket are still accepted.

Announced

A clouded leopard was born in late July at the Nashville Zoo. The teddy bear‑sized cub and two 10‑week‑old cubs from Tanganyika Wildlife Park can be seen at the HCA Healthcare Veterinary Center. You may even be able to catch a glimpse on the center’s live cam.

There will be 63 rides at this year’s Wilson County-Tennessee State Fair, including the all-new 40-ft-tall TN Lift Sky Ride. Lightning, the name of another new addition, will mark the fair’s tallest ride ever. (The Tennessean)
