Wyelea, a 600-acre residential community in Franklin, continues to take shape. With phase one infrastructure complete, construction begins this fall on The Commons, an amenity village with a spa, fitness studio, and two pools. More than 40% of homesites are already under contract.

There’s a new Midtown patio on the scene. Happy Does, a game-centric bar from California-based Good Time Design, is now open in the former Kung Fu Saloon space. The spot boasts pool tables, karaoke, and a photo booth, as well as six specialty hog dogs and other eats.

MNPS students will follow new cell phone rules this school year. Phones are prohibited during class unless permitted for “educational, health, or emergency” reasons. The policy brings the district in line with a new state law. (The Tennessean)

Heading to the airport? The far right-hand lane connecting Terminal Drive to Donelson Pike is now closed weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. while crews add a dedicated right-turn lane. One lane will remain open during the work, which is expected to wrap by late September.
