News Notes

Seasonal

Summer is coming. The summer solstice is this Friday, June 20, which marks the astronomical start of the season. It’s also the longest day of the year — measured by the amount of daylight — and the sun will set in Nashville at 8:07 p.m.

Mansion Monday

Edwin Keeble, the late architect behind Nashville’s Life & Casualty Tower, designed this 2.45-acre Belle Meade estate. Renovated in 2015, it features limestone paths, a moongate, heated floors, and a pool house. Plus, 350+ tree specimens were sourced from around the country to create a year-round private oasis.

Eat

Lettuce celebrate Fresh Veggies Day, which is Monday, June 16. The observance commemorates the nutritional value of vegetables, and there’s no better way to partake than by stocking up at a local farmers market.

Trend

We think pineapple yellow nails would look good on you. In fact, fruit nails are trending — and pineapple is the most searched fruit nail color in Tennessee. Get in on the trend and take a picture with your pineapple fruit tea from Bubble Love. (Flourish)

Outdoors

Tired of staring at your screen? It takes 60 seconds to be transported to a park somewhere in the world thanks to “One Minute Park.” Or just take a quick break from work to stroll a real nearby park — find one in our local parks guide.
