Nashville’s got another opportunity to show off its pipes on TV, thanks to a little help from headliner Keith Urban, producer Blake Shelton, and new show “The Road.”
The singing competition airing on CBS this fall will be filmed at seven venues across the US, including two in Nashville: Marathon Music Works and Ryman Auditorium.
The setlist
Urban will sing some of his biggest hits, even performing his newest single “Straight Line” from the 2024 album “High.” The real drum roll is the slate of emerging talent that will join him as opening acts at each performance, and the audience members who will influence which artists continue on to the next city. The schedule shows Music City as the last stops on Friday, March 28 and Wednesday, April 2.
Black Violin | 8 p.m. | Ryman Auditorium | $48+ | The music group performs on their “Full Circle” tour with special guest Amythyst Kiah.
Thursday, Feb. 27
Open Studio with Artist Táhila Moss | 4-5:30 p.m. | Frist Art Museum | Cost of admission | Once a month this spring, the visiting artist will be working from the museum so guests can observe and ask questions about her artistic process.
Nashville Predators vs. Winnipeg Jets | 7 p.m. | Bridgestone Arena | $44+ | See the Predators take the ice at the second and final home game of the week.
Friday, Feb. 28
Candlelight: A Tribute to Coldplay | Friday, Feb. 28 | Times vary | The Parthenon | $33+ | Hear the sounds of Coldplay’s greatest hits like “Yellow” and “A Sky Full of Stars” performed by a string quartet under the glow of candlelight.
Opening Weekend | Saturday, March 1-Sunday, March 2 | Times vary | The Adventure Park at Nashville | $43+ | Climb to new heights when Adventure Park at Nashville reopens for the season with Glow in the Park on Saturday night.
Sunday, March 2
Musician Spotlight: Kristen Rogers | 1-1:45 p.m. | Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum | Cost of admission | Hear from background vocalist Kristen Rogers, who has toured or worked in the studio with Zach Bryan, Eric Church, Hozier, Post Malone, and more.
The Nations space last home to Czann’s Brewing Co. is getting a new tenant. Living Waters is expanding to the west side with a to-be-named food partner, hopefully by this spring. The East Nashville facility will remain open, with much of its production to take place at the new location. (Nashville Post)
Closing
The Belle Meade Plaza Starbucks’ final day of operation will be Friday, Feb. 28, according to signage on the coffee chain’s door. This comes after Kroger closed in January and Ninki announced its late summer relocation to Bellevue due to the area’s pending redevelopment. (WSMV)
Announced
Over 400 songwriters will gather at 11 venues to put on 105 shows when Tin Pan South returns for its 33rd year Tuesday, March 25 through Saturday, March 29. The full schedule dropped yesterday with stacked pairings — like Kassi Ashton, Barry Dean, Luke Laird, and Travis Wood at 3rd and Lindsley.
Real Estate
$200 million. That’s how much “The Riverside” was listed for. The sellers, Ewing Properties, had originally planned a $2.5 billion development on the 65-acre property, complete with three public parks and a combination of residential, retail, and office space. (Nashville Business Journal)
Arts
A new-to-Nashville art experience has landed at Gift Horse. The East shop now houses the city’s first Inciardi Mini Print Vending Machine. Four quarters will get you one of nine available food-related prints — see for yourself.
