Today is Giving Tuesday — the globally celebrated day for giving back to your community through gifts and monetary donations. Last year, Giving Tuesday brought in an estimated $3.1 billion in 24 hours in the US alone.
There are hundreds of Nashville-area nonprofits that you can give to today. You might already have one in mind, but if you’re not sure where to start, search for a list of participating local nonprofits on Giving Tuesday’s website. Giving Matters, an initiative of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, is listed as Davidson County’s GivingTuesday Community.

The opening date for Kase x Noko, is set. The Omakase dining experience featuring 14 courses for $75 opens next door to its sister restaurant Noko on Friday, Dec. 13. You can make reservations now for three seating options (5:30, 7, and 8:30 p.m.) every day but Monday.

Concert
Nissan Stadium, “Let There Be Rock.” AC/DC brings their “Power Up” tour to Nashville with special guest The Pretty Reckless on Tuesday, May 20. Snag tickets beginning at 12 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6.

Cheekwood’s Winter Concert Series returns to Massey Auditorium inside Botanic Hall with a performance by Music City Latin Orchestra (Jan. 25), Lisa Stewart and the Love Notes (Feb. 14), and Crescent City Hoodoo All-Stars (March 1). General ticket sales begin Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Arts
There’s a fresh coat of paint along 37th Avenue North in Sylvan Heights. Never Xtinct artists Stephen and Alex Sloan unveiled the mural on the CSX underpass over the weekend, which pays tribute to neighborhood pets and the Nashville Ballet with scenes of dogs, cats, and a ballerina. (WKRN)

Metro Nashville Police Department’s Annual Toy Drive is winding up for another year this weekend (Dec. 7-8). Donate unwrapped toys for children ages 12 and younger between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to receive complimentary zoo admission (up to two tickets) while supplies last.
