You may already know about Nashville’s sister cities, but here’s a fun fact: There are at least 19 other towns and cities in the United States that share Music City’s name.
You know what they say — imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Nashville, Oregon
Unfortunately, not all Nashvilles survive the passage of time. We weren’t able to dig up much about this unincorporated community, but a book of ads from 1952 shared by the Lincoln County Historical Society suggests this Nashville was “home to a big-time logging company, complete with a corporate airplane.”
Nashville, Georgia
Music City, meet the “City of Dogwoods.” The area boasting a population just under 5,000 people was incorporated in 1892 and named after Revolutionary War soldier General Francis Nash. Nashville acts as the county seat for Berrien County, which covers 450 square miles and consists of four municipalities. The downtown square offers a family-owned hotel and a farmers market.

If cooler temperatures have you thinking back to last year’s snow storm — there’s a silver lining. NDOT replaced its fleet with 19 new snow plows, and there are more on the way. The plows have technology that monitors road conditions and air temperature to calculate salt and calcium distribution along streets. (WZTV)

Speaking of winter’s arrival, check out Bringles Smoking Oasis’ new setup. The outdoor bar serving as a game day favorite unveiled its covered roof last November, but now it has optional covered siding to match. State
New or returning residents from nine states, including California and Kentucky, will need a new document when applying for a Tennessee driver’s license beginning Friday, Jan. 10.
