Tomorrow, Aug. 17 is National Nonprofit Day — aka the perfect time to lock in which Nashville volunteer opportunity best suits you.

From animal lovers and artsy types to natural mentors and health care enthusiasts, we have 55 ways to get involved with one of Music City’s many causes.

Natural-born teachers and mentors

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum | Support the museum’s educational mission by welcoming guests, assisting during Hatch Show Print’s art-making programs, acting as a school tour guide, and more.

Book’em | Join a community of over 300 volunteers in supporting literacy initiatives through activities like reading with preschool and elementary school students and preparing donated books for distribution.

Girls on the Run Middle Tennessee | Express interest in coaching, one-time volunteering, and group opportunities to support GOTR’s mission of “inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident.”

If you want to assist neighbors in need

Hands on Nashville | This organization supports more than 200 nonprofits, civic agencies, and schools with a specific program dedicated to disaster relief as a partner for volunteer activation and management in Metro Nashville’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.

Project Redesign | The Nashville nonprofit utilizes donated furniture to help those in need redesign their spaces to better suit their needs. Volunteers help either in the warehouse or with installs.

If you’re an animal lover

Nashville Wildlife Conservation Center | Help transport injured animals to the wildlife hospital, join the education team to inform the community about our wildlife neighbors (Friday and Saturday volunteers are especially in need), or help rehabilitate injured wildlife.

Wags & Walks | As part of the Wags Club, you’ll walk, feed, and play with pups while they await adoption.

Where to score food and beverage flights around Nashville

Four glasses of wine on a paper menu: one rose, one red, and two whites.

There’s no need to hop on a plane to experience this kind of flight in Music City. We’re getting elevated — food and beverage style — by ordering one of these flights on menus around town.

Sixty Vines | Choose your own adventure (or leave it up to the team) with a custom wine lineup of three or four 2.5-ounce pours hand-picked from the menu featuring 60 options. Pro tip: Don’t let the creativity stop there, build your own board by combining one, three, or five meat and cheeses.

Blue Hound Brew | If coffee is more your thing, head to the Nashville Farmers Market for a cold brew flight. We tried the original, honey vanilla, salted caramel, and lavender honey when the biz first opened in April.

Donut Distillery | This East Nashville spot pairs four of its mini donuts with a mimosa, coffee cocktail, beer, or whiskey combination.
