• Nashville’s Gretchen Walsh racked up the accomplishments this weekend. The swimmer set the Olympic record of 55.38 seconds during Saturday’s 100-meter butterfly semifinal before winning silver in the race on Sunday. She also helped her 400-meter relay team take home a silver medal.

• Plan ahead — Nashville Public Library’s Main Branch will close on Monday, Aug. 19 for preventative maintenance with a reopening anticipated in early October. The Pruitt Branch is also closed for maintenance until the fall. Head to NPL’s homepage for regular updates across all branches.

• The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is partnering with Nashville Fashion Show to host designers Marina Toybina and Maria ‘Pony’ Silver for “Suiting the Sound” on Wednesday, Sept. 4. The conversation at Ford Theater will focus on their careers with artists like Carrie Underwood, as well as design process.

• Nashville International Airport TSA is hosting a recruiting event today, July 29 (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) at Sheraton Music City Hotel for Transportation Security Officer (TSO) and Security Support Assistant (SSA) positions. The informational session and preliminary hiring process can take two to three hours, so arriving early is recommended. (WZTV)
