Voter guide for the Aug. 1 election in Davidson County

The next election in Davidson County is inching closer on Thursday, Aug. 1, and we’re here to help you prepare for the polls.

As a refresher, the state and federal primary, Davidson County general election, and Oak Hill municipal election will be on the ballot.

Important dates

  • Early voting | Friday, July 12-Saturday, July 27
  • Deadline to request an absentee ballot | Thursday, July 25

Early voting locations

All 12 early voting sites open Friday, July 12. Locations are closed on Sundays. Residents can vote during the following hours: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Wednesday and Saturday), 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Tuesday and Thursday), and 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Monday and Friday).

    Election Day

    Find your polling place with this voter information tool. Once you plug in your address on the interactive map, your polling place will pop up.

    If you are waiting until Election Day to vote, the address you are given using the tool above is where you must vote. The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 1.

    Voters must present an ID that includes their name and photograph. This could be a Tennessee driver’s license or another acceptable form of photo ID. A voter registration card is not necessary to vote.

    Nov. 5 | State and federal general + Belle Meade, Forest Hills, and Goodlettsville municipal elections

    • Nashville Farmers Market’s annual Tomat-O-Rama Festival returns Saturday, July 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Skip the “Is it a fruit or vegetable?” debate and jump to the fun stuff: cooking demonstrations, a tomato tasting table, food trucks, and more.
    Plan Ahead
    • In other foodie news, Greys Fine Cheeses is hosting its inaugural Cheese Festival on Sunday, Sept. 8 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Prepare to spend your afternoon meeting artisan cheesemakers + eating award-winning cheeses at Southern Grist’s taproom in The Nations. Tickets are on sale.

    • Touchdown. The Nashville Kats defeated the Orlando Predators 62-32 in the first round of the AFL Playoffs on Friday. The team will take on the Billings Outlaws on Saturday, July 13 (9 p.m.) in the semifinals. Tune in via CBS Sports Network or 102.5 and 106.3 FM The Game.
    Closing
