If you think Nashville traffic is getting worse, you’re right.
INRIX, a software company specializing in transportation analytic solutions, released its Global Traffic Scorecard for 2023. The study looks at three years of mobility data to produce travel delay comparisons, costs of congestion to drivers, and commuting trends across 900+ cities around the world.
Don’t throw away the keys just yet. Let’s take a closer look at the findings:
No. 12 for congestion in the US and No. 39 worldwide
56 hours in traffic, up 13% from 2022
Cost of congestion per driver: $985
Peak speed during morning and afternoon commutes: 30 mph
Curious which local routes are frequented the most by fellow drivers? Click the “commute areas” tab.
Now, let’s leave all of that in the rearview. The way we see it is, you have ~seven more hours to listen local. We’ve put together a playlist of feel-good tunes and podcasts to pass the time. Here’s a little preview:
Curious Nashville | Podcast | Listeners decide which question about the city and region Nashville Public Radio explores and answers next.
“Parking Lot Party” by Lee Brice | Song | The freeway is no parking lot, but the sentiment is the same.
