Keeping up with Nashville development can be a real crane in the neck sometimes. That said, it’s hard to miss all of the updates coming out of the city’s newest neighborhood, Paseo South Gulch. If you missed the recent block party introducing you to the vibrant area, let’s play a game of catch up.
Rewind a bit
For those unfamiliar with this slice of Nashville history, a portion of the project consists of two repurposed historic structures: the Voorhees and Antiques buildings. The Vorhees Building was initially constructed as a John Deere distribution center before housing heating and cooling business Bill Voorhees Co. The Downtown Antique Mall set up shop in the Antiques Building for nearly 30 years until its closure in 2019.
It’s a date
Believe it or not, there’s even more expansion on the horizon. Paseo South Gulch’s Hotel and Residences featuring 180 rooms and 146 for-sale units arrives in 2026, in addition to One Paseo, a mixed-use component offering nearly 4,000 sqft of office and retail space.
On the retail side of things, The Catbird Seat and The Patterson House will relocate to the Voorhees Building’s rooftop this summer. Maiz de la Vida, a popular food truck outside of East Nashville’s Chopper, is working on opening its brick-and-mortar + Malibu-based health store and eatery SunLife Organics is expanding to the area. Stay tuned for exact opening dates.

Newly announced
Yesterday, Carter Vintage Guitars unveiled its newest space, Carter Studios. The showroom, which opened in April, dedicated a multi-use event and creative space within the store designed for content creation, music videos, rehearsals, yoga classes, bespoke chef-led dinners, secret music gigs, and more. Pssst, it’s now open for booking and the calendar is stacked.
In addition to wellness and fitness classes, the studio partnered with nonprofit organization Nashville Basement Stage to provide a free space for local talent to create or share their art with the community.

It’s good to be back. If you hadn’t noticed, I spent some time out of the office at the end of last week to visit one of our sister markets in Austin (hey, ATXtoday). Of course, they helped me navigate the city like a true local. Have any upcoming trips planned? Pro tip: We have publications just like this one in 25 cities.
