Nearly six decades after the original location’s debut, the new Donelson library branch at 2714 Old Lebanon Pk. will welcome visitors starting Monday, June 24 — and if you ask us, it’s worth checking out.
The new building
The two-story library at Donelson Plaza is 25,000 sqft and houses ~30,000 books and materials. It’s nearly four times the size of the original branch and offers the following services and features:
A mobile kitchen on wheels open to partner organizations for cooking classes and demonstrations
Attend the grand opening to see artist Amber Lelli’s suspended sculpture in person. | Rendering via Metro Arts
Opening day schedule
The event on Monday, June 24 is free to attend (RSVP here), and because the library expects a high turnout, check out the parking map + transportation info ahead of time. Here’s the schedule:
Much like other branches, Donelson will host community events and classes. Beyond the grand opening, the library’s calendar is filling up with animal-themed programs, food classes for teens, a Bubble Blast Foam Party (Aug. 3), and more.

Sunset on Belcourt arriving in Hillsboro Village this summer
Co-owner Joseph Johnson said he envisions Sunset on Belcourt as the “final piece” to the hospitality group’s portfolio of Hillsboro Village concepts. | Photo via Make A Play Hospitality
Add this new restaurant to your list of places to watch the sunset.
Sunset on Belcourt, which doubles as a cigar lounge, is expected to open this summer at 2000 Belcourt Ave. The 3,400-sqft patio is located behind Supper Club on Belcourt and can be accessed through the side gate next to the restaurant or from a separate entrance on Wedgewood Avenue.
The menus | Expect tapas-style bites and large plates, such as lamb chops, steak, and pasta + cocktails like Special Guidance Old Fashioned and Uncle Nearest Tea.
The space | Settle in for food and live music on the patio, which offers lounge furniture, high top tables, bar seating, and booths. During the winter months, trade sunshine for the warmth of a covered patio.
The restaurant marks Make a Play Hospitality’s fourth concept on Belcourt Avenue, joining Bungalow10, Supper Club on Belcourt, and Jar Tapas + Cocktail. Sunset on Belcourt will operate Wednesday through Sunday with late-night hours.
Post Malone must be pretty fond of Music City — and who can blame him? Not only did he announce the name of his new album via The Nashville Sign, he made his Bluebird Cafe debut with Lainey Wilson.
