Happy trails: Our guide to hiking around Nashville

From quick and easy loops around town to drives that take you to fantastic lakes, our city has so many options to hit the trail. So lace up your hiking boots, because we’ve compiled a hiking guide for the Nashville area with 14 routes and trails to help you plan your next adventure and experience breathtaking views.

This Beaman Park trail connects the Nature Center to the Henry Hollow Loop. Hike it in under one hour, or add on Henry Hollow Loop and Ridgetop Trail for a ~six-mile adventure.

The trail opened in 2012 as part of the Tennessee State Parks 75th anniversary celebration. Radnor supplied 1 million gallons of water a day to the rail yards for steam engines and drinking water for cattle at the height of the valve’s use.

This partially-paved, partially dirt trail is in a heavily-wooded area of the park and might be a little muddy in spots after a rain. Pro tip: Take in views from 922 ft by walking down a paved road the trail crosses to the cleared knob of Luke Lea Heights.

A portion of the pastoral hike winds along the Cumberland River. Take in colorful wildflowers from asters to ironweed in season and watch for the many species of birds that frequent the area.

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is Doin’ This. Luke Combs will become the next artist with his own exhibition, “Luke Combs: The Man I Am,” which debuts on Thursday, July 11. That same day, Combs will participate in a songwriter round in the museum’s CMA Theater.

Titan Up — the team’s 2024 schedule is here. Week 1 begins in Chicago on Sunday, Sept. 8, with the home opener a week later against the New York Jets. The Titans will face the Miami Dolphins away in one primetime game on Monday, Sept. 30. Freshen up your gear for the season with a customized jersey.
Award
Former goaltender Pekka Rinne will become the third Predators player to be inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, joining Mike Fisher and David Legwand. The ceremony is scheduled for later this year. (The Tennessean)

Concert
Following the release of his first song in more than a decade, Randy Travis will bring his “More Life” tour to Ryman Auditorium on Wednesday, June 5. Guest vocalist James Dupré will sing Travis’ hits alongside his original touring band while the star and his wife, Mary, interact with the crowd. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m.
