A double dose of inspiration awaits at the Frist Art Museum’s two new exhibitions.
Frist up is“Southern/Modern,” a vibrant portrait of the American South highlighting an artistic movement that blossomed from 1913 to 1955. See stunning paintings by major artists, including Aaron Douglas, Alma Thomas, and Thomas Hart Benton.
The journey continues in the adjacent contemporary gallery with captivating woodblock prints and mixed-media portraits by Arkansas-born artist LaToya M. Hobbs in “Carving a New Tradition.”

🏗️ The new Nolensville
Plans for Nolensville town square receive approval
Nolensville’s new town square could be complete as early as 2031. | Rendering provided by the Town of Nolensville Planning Commission
Nolensville is one step closer to showing off a shiny new hangout. The town’s planning commission approved the development plan for a town square last week by a vote of 8-1.
The project will span 27 acres on the west side of Nolensville Road and offer 400+ residential units, including multifamily units, townhomes, manor homes, and live/work units. Design guidelines prioritize green space, pedestrian + bicycle zones, a central lawn and flexible event space, a splash pad, pocket parks, and shaded outdoor seating.
Development of the town square will take place in three phases over the course of seven to 10 years, with phase 1 building construction beginning this spring. Phase 2 and 3 will follow in Fall 2025 and Fall 2026, respectively.
The Buy
The Buy 2.19.24 (Affiliate + Six & Main)
A stylish new collar or leash from Six & Main’s collection for your dog to sport during their favorite time of day (walk time).
Coloring can be a great way to relax at the end of the long day, so I’m certainly going to print off some of the Parthenon’s new coloring pages. I’ve recently been loving the “Corgi Travelogue: Coloring the World’s Most Iconic Destinations” book; it features designs of the Eiffel Tower, Great Wall of China, and Stonehenge.
