If you’re looking to shake up the work-from-home (or coffee shop) routine, there’s a new coworking option on the scene. Enter: The Malin Wedgewood Houston.

The new 16,000-sqft coworking facility is housed on the second floor of Nashville Warehouse Co. — located at the corner of 4th Avenue South and Chestnut Street. This is The Malin’s first and largest location outside of New York.

Working there

Members have access to amenities like library space for silent work, soundproof phone booths, and complimentary printing. Here are the membership options:
  • Day Pass, $50 per day — Access to communal workspace and onsite amenities
  • Access, $395 per month — Use of the communal workspace, plus access to all onsite amenities and member perks
  • Dedicated Desk, $750 per month — Your own desk with built-in power and lockable storage (includes after-hours access)
  • Private office — Upon request
The Malin also offers bookable spaces that vary in size and price. These areas, which are available to both members and non-members, include two libraries, one board room, a listening room/podcast studio, a screening space, and three traditional meeting rooms.

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Location: 1131 4th Ave. S. #230
  • Parking: You can park in the building’s garage (rates vary) or in nearby lots. Pro tip: Avoid parking and take the bus — use WeGo Transit’s trip planner to route your journey.
  • Tours: Check out the space by requesting a tour.
Stay tuned — The Malin plans to open a 12,000-sqft location in Paseo South Gulch’s Bill Voorhees Building.

City Editor Skylar here. It’s not easy getting five 20-somethings in one place. So when my close friends were all free on the same day, it was time to put our plans in drive. Enter: Signature Transportation Services — a chauffeured transportation company that mapped out our adventure for us.

As the passenger princesses, it was our duty to sit back, relax, and take full advantage of all of the van’s luxe features (more on that later) while our chauffeur drove us to Shelbyville for a swanky distillery tour.

What we tried

We booked the Premium Sprinter to one of Signature’s newest tour offerings — a Whiskey Trail Tour to Nearest Green Distillery (also home to Humble Baron) which boasts the world’s longest bar. Yes, you read that right.

    • The Supper Club on Belcourt team plans to open a second Hillsboro Village restaurant soon at 1910 Belcourt Ave. While we await Bungalow10’s opening date, here’s a sneak peek of its menu offerings — fried snapper, empanadas, and spicy rigatoni, plus specialty cocktails.

    • Hands on Nashville’s nonprofit partners have begun utilizing volunteers to sort donations and provide relief for those impacted by Saturday’s tornado outbreak. This webpage will be updated as volunteer opportunities become available in Davidson County and surrounding areas.

    • Celebrity chef and restaurateur Bobby Flay may soon have a local presence. Bobby’s Burgers, a fast-casual burger chain, is considering a Nashville expansion for its inventive offerings, like the potato chip-topped Crunchburger. (Nashville Business Journal)

    • Sarah McLachlan is coming to Ascend Amphitheater on Saturday, June 29. The tour marks the 30th anniversary of her album “Fumbling Towards Ecstasy” and will feature special guest Feist. Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 15.
