Weekend Forecast

🌧️ Expect a chance of rain on Saturday and temps in the high 40s.

Howdy, Nashville — Skylar here. The chilly weather has me curling up inside most days. Between this and one of my 2024 goals being to learn a new craft, I’m eyeing tickets to the hand embroidery class on Sunday. Keep scrolling for eight other upcoming events.

Great Escapes: Our Guide to Berea, Kentucky

Even though it’s a small town, Berea can cater to adventure-seekers + foodies alike. | Photo by LEXtoday
Welcome to Berea, the Official Folk Art and Craft Capital of Kentucky. After taking in epic views of the stunning Bluegrass landscape via ~10 miles of hiking trails, head back into town for dinner and shopping.
  • Why go: This town is just small enough, and remote enough, that you can usually avoid some of the larger crowds that gravitate to more popular hiking areas.
  • Food: Sample signature dishes and seasonal specials at the historic Boone Tavern Restaurant. Don’t forget to try the spoon bread.
  • Drinks: If you’re looking to sip on some of Kentucky’s best craft beer, Apollo Pizza and Beer Emporium is the spot. Its huge, classic wooden bar is cozy and inviting.
  • Explore: The Kentucky Artisan Center features handmade goods from artists across Kentucky. This venue also showcases seasonal exhibits throughout the year.
  • Vrbo: The Cozy Quilt House, walking distance to shopping + dining (~$122/night)*
Keep exploring
