Development
A mixed-use development is proposed for a triangle-shaped property south of downtown at 1300 4th Ave. S. If approved, the project could break ground in December and produce 134 residential units + 5,712 sqft of retail space within two years. (Nashville Business Journal)
Closing
South Nashville’s Christ Church YMCA is set to close next spring due to the church not renewing its lease. YMCA officials are exploring other options and will notify members of the final closure date. (The Tennessean)
Concert
Chris Stapleton will travel back to Nashville on his “All American Road Show” tour next summer. The Bridgestone Arena show is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 9 with special guests Marty Stuart and Nikki Lane. Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 3.

The Hermitage Hotel and Urban Cowboy Nashville landed on Fodor’s Travel’s annual list of the 20 best hotels in North America. Fodor’s calls attention to Urban Cowboy’s “Midnight Rider” suite + the Hermitage’s “Old World opulence.”

FiftyForward and Creative Girls Rock team up for new Bordeaux community hub

Nashville nonprofits FiftyForward and Creative Girls Rock announced plans for Bordeaux Collaborative — a new hub for nonprofits and city agencies to connect with area youth and older adults.
The 9,000-sqft facility will be constructed at FiftyForward’s current Bordeaux location — 3315 John Mallette Dr. — and anchored by Creative Girls Rock and FiftyForward Bordeaux Senior Center. State and metro government support agencies will use office space as needed to conduct classes and seminars, recruit volunteers, or enroll participants in programs.
Project timeline
The concept for Bordeaux Collaborative came about in 2019 through community needs assessments conducted by FiftyForward and Creative Girls Rock underscored the need for access to community resources, intergenerational programs, and health services for residents.
Bordeaux Collaborative since launched a public fundraising campaign to raise $700,000 toward the center’s $6 million price tag. The organization has already secured $4.5 million through grants. Construction is set to begin by spring 2024.
The Nashville Zoo shared the first up-close photos of the new tiger cubs — two girls and a boy. According to the zoo, the three cubs are doing great and are continuing to bond with mom, Anne.
