Weekend Forecast

🌧️ Expect a chance of rain on Saturday and temps in the high 40s.

Howdy, Nashville — Skylar here. The chilly weather has me curling up inside most days. Between this and one of my 2024 goals being to learn a new craft, I’m eyeing tickets to the hand embroidery class on Sunday. Keep scrolling for eight other upcoming events.

Great Escapes: Our guide to Providence, RI

The River Walk is a great place to start your trip, rain or shine. | Photo by 6AM City
If riverside promenades, Italianate architecture + a thriving arts community appeal to you, planning a spring visit to Providence might be just the ticket.
  • Why go: GQ named Providence the coolest city you haven’t been to — calling on its celebrated food scene + high-style Dean Hotel as contributing factors. Plus, aside from the plentiful street art you’ll find around downtown, RISD Museum has six levels of art pieces to peruse.
  • Food: What’s even better than the repurposed atmosphere of Maria’s Cucina’s old Italo-American home? The Gnocchi Toscana.
  • Explore: Get the best view of the city by climbing up to Prospect Terrace with a picnic.
  • Splurge hotel: The Dean Hotel is a swankier option, complete with a karaoke lounge + bar.
