Think you can get all 10 quiz questions correct? They won’t all be a walk on Broadway. | Photo via Google Maps
The year was 2013. The new 2.1 million-sqft Music City Center opened downtown. The internet was overflowing with photos of Grumpy Cat and people doing the “Harlem Shake.” But in a less noisy corner of cyberspace, geography aficionados were hooked on GeoGuessr, a new online game that had just hit the digital streets.
Its concept is rather simple. Using Google Street View, you are dropped somewhere completely random — anywhere in the world that the tech company has captured 360° imagery. Your mission? To use clues like the language on signs, natural terrain, and even the models of cars to try and pinpoint your exact location on a map. The closer your guess, the more points you earn.
We’re riffing on this idea with a little Nashville flair. We’ll share ten images like the one you see above. Scan each photo for things that stand out, and then try to figure out the location you’re actually looking at. Some will be easy, while others may be more difficult. Pro tip: If you really want to be a local history buff, you can study up on even more historic Nashville streets.

Nashville honored Taylor Swift with a dedicated bench at Centennial Park. The bench is a reference to the song “invisible string,” which was featured on her 2020 album “folklore.” In the track, Swift sings, “Green was the color of the grass, where I used to read in Centennial Park.”

Speaking of Mukhtar, the pro soccer star has been named Tennessee’s Professional Player of the Year by the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame. He became the first Nashville SC player to win the 2022 Landon Donovan MLS MVP and the MLS Golden Boot.
