Get ready to fill up your reusable shopping bags with fruits and veggies, Music City. In the spirit of supporting all things local, we’ve rounded up 12 farmers markets in the Nashville area where you’ll find fresh food, live music, and local vendors.

12 South Farmers Market | Tuesdays, May-October | 4-7 p.m. | Sevier Park, 3021 Lealand Ln.
  • Features: ~70 vendors, live music, food trucks, family activities, and group fitness classes
  • Parking: Sevier Park parking lot and free street parking
  • Space: Outdoors
Farmin’ in the Hall | Thursdays, May-September | 4:30-7 p.m. | 451 Hogan Rd.
  • Features: ~30-40 vendors, live music, and food trucks
  • Parking: Parking lot of Crievewood United Methodist Church
  • Space: Outdoors
  • Special events: The kiddos will enjoy climbing on the playground equipment behind the church.
Nashville Farmers Market | Daily, Year-round | 8 a.m.-6 p.m. | 900 Rosa L. Parks Blvd.
  • Features: Browse fresh produce, artisanal food, and crafts via two covered open-air sheds on weekends and shop for plants daily at Gardens of Babylon’s 24,000-sqft garden center. Plus, stop by the international food hall housing ~20 restaurants and shops.
  • Parking: Free two-hour parking in the Nashville Farmers Market and shared Tennessee State Museum lots, 30-minute parking in designated zones for Nashville Farmers Market customers, and two-hour parking along 7th Avenue

Announced
  • Brad Paisley is set to headline “Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th.” The War And Treaty, singer-songwriter Langhorne Slim, and rising country artist Tiera Kennedy will join him. The free downtown event features a fireworks show synchronized to live music from the Nashville Symphony and a family fun zone.
  • The spring lineup for Centennial Park’s Musicians Corner is here. The free, five-week concert series begins Friday, May 19 with the Seratones, Alanna Royale, Lilly Hart, and Harry Keyworth. Concerts run each Friday (5-9 p.m.) and Saturday (12-6 p.m.) through Saturday, June 17.
Festival
  • Bookmark this date. The annual Southern Festival of Books returns to Nashville at a new location — Bicentennial Mall, Tennessee State Museum, and Tennessee State Library. The festival welcomes ~150 authors Friday, Oct. 20-Sunday, Oct. 22 for panel sessions, discussions, and readings.
Travel
  • Avelo Airlines is expanding service at Nashville International Airport by adding exclusive nonstop flights to Delaware’s Wilmington Airport — which is a short drive to Philadelphia. Service begins on Thursday, June 22, operating twice-weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. One-way fares start at $39.
Community
  • No need for the rain, rain to go away. Alongside Nashville Metro Water Services and Cumberland River Compact, the NPL Richland Park branch is solving flooded walkways and pooled water in the park with a new rain garden. Want to help? Sign-up to volunteer on Saturday, May 13.

  • Free movies alert. The Nashville Film Festival, Nashville Downtown Partnership, and Church Street Park have teamed up to offer five nights of outdoor screenings this summer, beginning with “Grease” on Saturday, April 22 (8-10 p.m.). See the lineup.

  • A plaque unveiled this week on the side of Mt. Juliet’s new mixed-use center, Charlie’s Place, honors late singer Charlie Daniels. A mural painted by Michael Cooper sporting Daniels’ portrait, fiddles, and an American flag also adorns the side of the building. (The Tennessean)
