Catch up with country music’s latest chapter at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s 2023 installment of “American Currents: State of the Music.” The annual exhibition opens today and takes a broad view of the genre over the past year, exploring the Museum curators + editorial staff’s take on musical development, artist achievements, and notable events.
To kick off the celebrations, the Museum will host “Songwriter Sessions” with Miko Marks and Sunny Sweeney on Saturday, March 11.*
CMA Fest, now in its 50th year, returns to downtown June 8-June 11. Hold onto your cowboy hats because the initial lineup is here. Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, and Eric Church take the Main Stage in addition to hundreds of artistsacross six stages. Stay tuned for additional programming. 🎸
While you have your calendar out, add the Wilson County - Tennessee State Fair to Thursday, Aug. 17-Saturday, Aug. 26. The event at Lebanon’s Wilson County fairgrounds features carnival rides, entertainment across multiple stages, livestock shows, and more.

Belmont University is considering constructing a third residential high-rise located west of Caldwell Hall — 1407 Caldwell Ave. According to Metro documents, seven properties are likely needed for the building coined Caldwell Hall 2 to come to fruition. (Nashville Post)

More than a dozen artists like Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne, and Jason Isbell will perform at Bridgestone Arena on Monday, March 20. “Love Rising: Let Freedom Sing (and Dance)” will benefit four Tennessee LGBTQ advocacy groups and tickets go on sale today.
“Come Sail Away” to Ryman Auditorium on Sunday, June 18 because Styx added a second show with guest performer Edwin McCain. Plus, Steve Miller Bandperforms at FirstBank Amphitheater on Sunday, April 30 with special guest Mavis Staples. Tickets for both shows go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

Metro Animal Care and Control’s 90+ pets awaiting adoption

Last week, Metro Animal Care and Controlannounced there was only one large kennel available in the adoption room, pushing the shelter to its capacity. As of yesterday afternoon, 85 dogs and eight cats were still awaiting furever homes.
