Number: 30. In 2022, that’s how many years Martina McBride will celebrate as a recording artist (read: another milestone in a career stocked with achievements).
These achievements include:
- 4 CMA Female Vocalist of the Year awards
- the Academy of Country Music’s Cliffie Stone Icon Award
- 8 consecutive platinum albums
- 5 no. 1 country hits, including “A Broken Wing” and “Blessed”
Later this month, she’ll add a Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum exhibition to that list. Martina McBride: The Power of Her Voice opens July 30, 2021, exploring Martina’s artistry + legacy, from childhood days performing in her family’s band to becoming an award-winning, perspective-shifting artist.
In her words: "(It’s) something I’ve had on my dream list for a long, long time. Being able to share moments and mementos from my life and career with my fans and country music fans from all over the world is both humbling and exciting.”

The story told in this exhibition — a detailed study of Martina McBride’s development, rise, and creative drive, bolstered by personal artifacts — epitomizes how country artists can find success as they reflect changing times + address social issues in songs. Balancing upbeat anthems of personal empowerment with dramatic narratives about women assuming control and escaping difficult situations, Martina has helped modernize the image of female artists in country music. 👏
The exhibition was originally planned to launch in 2020, but the pandemic called for a change in schedule — which brought unexpected benefits.
According to Martina: “(It) was a difficult decision but the right one. It did, however, allow us more time to plan and dig through my archive to find several truly special artifacts. I’m excited to finally be able to let everyone see what we’ve created.
